CCTV captures a leopard attacking a pet cat in a residential home in Nashik.

On Saturday, 14th February 2026, a leopard attacked a pet cat in a residential house in Nashik. This incident took place around quarter to 2 PM in the Dari Maturi Male with the cat seriously injured. It occurred at Bharat Devram Pingle’s residence. CCTV footage from the house shows the leopard gripping the cat in its jaws, swaying it side to side while the animal can be heard crying out in distress. The incident has triggered panic among family members and local residents, who are demanding immediate action to prevent such attacks, including increase in night patrolling and steps to prevent further wildlife movement into human habitations.

Forest department officials have taken possession of the CCTV footage and are currently tracing the leopard. This is not the first such incident reported in the area. Nashik has recently witnessed several leopard attacks, with two people injured in separate incidents in the Niphad and Dindori talukas earlier this month. In January, a youth was also injured in a similar attack near Lahavit village on the outskirts of the city. Repeated incidents have raised concerns over the growing human-wildlife conflict in the region.
